How Can I Help My BPD Loved One?

In my experience as a Mental Health Coach this is a question that is often asked as soon as someone knows that someone they love and/or care about has Borderline Personailty Disorder. There are variations of this question that include:

  • What do I have to do to help the person in my life with BPD get better?
  • Can I, in fact, help the person with BPD in my life? What does that look like? What about me in all of this?
  • Is it hopeless?
  • When is it healthy to let go? Is it healthy to let go?
  • What can I do with all that I feel? I am in so much pain and my BPD loved one doesn't understand?
  • Does helping my BPD loved one make me codependent?

I have a few resources that you will find helpful. I am also a Life Coach and I work with many loved ones of those with BPD. I believe, and I know from my own personal experience that it is important for loved ones to understand as much as they can about BPD but at the same time make sure to take time for themselves and their own self-care.

I have 9 Audio Programs for loved ones of those with BPD along with 3 Ebooks specifically for BPD loved ones and 6 Ebooks on various aspects of BPD and even more BPD Audio Programs that provide a tremendous amount of helpful insight and perspective for loved ones.
